The Suffrage Project aims to educate the public on the history of the fight for women’s suffrage in the United States, a movement traditionally relegated to the margins of history books. In this retelling of the era that led to the passage of the 19th Amendment, the voices of suffragists are no longer marginal but central.
By taking the major events in the Women’s Suffrage Movement and bringing them to life in an original theatrical production, we reveal the arduous fight suffragists waged to ensure the right to vote for women in the United States. In doing so, we aim to encourage everyone to exercise their hard-won right in the upcoming election.
The Suffrage Project is the first production at the Academy of Our Lady of Peace to be student-researched, written, and produced! Please share this production with family and friends!
