Student Life

At the Academy of Our Lady of Peace, student life is rooted in joyful engagement, meaningful connection, and a commitment to growth in every dimension—intellectual, spiritual, physical, and creative. In a supportive atmosphere designed to meet the needs of young women, students are empowered to explore their interests and embrace leadership through a rich array of opportunities.

The arts thrive at OLP, where creativity is celebrated through music, drama, dance, and visual expression. Signature events like Spring Sing—a beloved all-school musical entirely written, directed, choreographed, and performed by students—showcase collaboration, talent, and school spirit. Student plays and performances are presented each year to enthusiastic audiences of parents, peers, faculty, and the greater San Diego community.

Athletics also play a key role in the OLP experience. As proud competitors in C.I.F. sports, students build teamwork, resilience, and confidence across a wide range of programs, including volleyball, soccer, tennis, softball, track and field, cross-country, basketball, golf, and swimming.

Faith and service are woven into the rhythm of daily life. Students participate in liturgies, retreats, and monthly all-school Masses, and are invited to deepen their spirituality through opportunities like morning Mass, scripture study, and service immersions with partners in San Diego, Tijuana, Mexicali, and East Los Angeles. Whether serving meals at Fr. Joe’s Villages or collaborating with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, students live the call to serve the “dear neighbor” without distinction.

Through the guidance of caring faculty and counselors, students grow in Christian values, develop lifelong friendships, and experience what it means to be part of a compassionate, spirited, and mission-driven community. Student life at OLP is more than just an experience—it’s a journey defined by heart, faith, courage, and excellence.
