Your daughter’s transition to OLP will begin even before the first day of school through summer assignments designed to help students stay engaged, continue building academic skills, and feel confident and prepared for the year ahead.

Because transfer students may enroll in a variety of different courses, required summer assignments will vary based on each student’s individual schedule. Some students may have assignments in one course, while others may have assignments across multiple subject areas.

All OLP student course schedules for the 2026-2027 academic year will be available through the PowerSchool App after June 1 on the OLP PowerSchool website. To navigate to the Class Registrations 26-27, it is located on the Left Side Menu.

To view a Student's ID, go to Student Profile, also accessible on the Left Side Menu on either the PowerSchool App or on the OLP PowerSchool website.

Please use our Summer Assignments page to review your daughter’s required summer assignments by course. The navigation bar located at the top of the page will allow you to check for assignments in the following departments:

  • English
  • Math
  • Social Studies
  • Science
  • World Language

Transfer students should carefully review all courses in which they may be enrolled, as they could have required reading, assignments, or coursework in one or more subject areas.

At OLP, summer assignments are intentionally designed to help students enter the school year ready to participate in thoughtful discussions, engage deeply with course material, and begin building relationships with teachers and classmates. Our faculty members are passionate about helping girls find their voices, grow in confidence, and discover their strengths in a classroom environment where students are known, supported, challenged, and championed.

We encourage students to begin assignments early and pace themselves thoughtfully throughout the summer so they can complete their work with care and start the school year feeling prepared for success.

Textbook information for the 2026–2027 school year will become available on June 1.

OLP partners with Follett as a convenient option for purchasing course materials, including rental and used textbook options.

Families may visit the OLP Follett Virtual Bookstore (note: opens June 1, 2026).

Families are also welcome to purchase textbooks elsewhere. The complete 2026–2027 textbook list may be accessed here in the OLP Course Materials Guide. To ensure the correct editions are selected, families should reference the ISBN numbers provided within the guide.

Additionally, students may visit campus for the OLP Used Uniform & Textbook Sale on May 22, 2026, from 12:00–2:00 p.m., where students buy, sell, and donate gently used textbooks and uniforms directly with one another.

Empowering Girls Through Technology

OLP strives to develop mastery of 21st-century skills in each student in order that she becomes an engaged agent of change in our global society. Technology plays a critical role in the way we collaborate and communicate in that same world. OLP requires that all students have access to the tools of the 21st-century via a mobile device. With respect to OLP’s mission and the economic diversity of our families, OLP does not mandate the specific device each student uses, but rather, has adopted a “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) policy that outlines recommended and minimum specifications for whatever device a family chooses.

This policy and practice guide the use of interactive instruction and learning that connects our students more meaningfully to the world outside and, just as effectively, to the world outside the classroom.

Living Faith in Action

Grounded in the CSJ charism of unifying love, each student at OLP is invited to live her faith in action by serving the dear neighbor without distinction and responding to the needs of our world.

Serving the Dear Neighbor

Serving the dear neighbor in a spirit of “unifying love” is at the heart of the CSJ mission and, therefore, the heart of the OLP mission. Each student is called to be a loving disciple, serving others with compassion and purpose. As a member of the OLP community, she is encouraged to engage in Christian service, striving to bring about justice and love in the world, as Jesus modeled. Service at OLP is grounded in the belief that every person is created with innate worth and dignity. Students have access to a wide variety of local service opportunities, along with educational justice immersions that address a broad range of social justice issues both locally and globally.

Guidelines for Service

OLP does not require mandatory service hours for graduation. Instead, this philosophy encourages and celebrates a thriving culture of voluntary service rooted in authentic compassion. Students are invited to serve through a genuine desire to engage with the dear neighbor, both locally and globally. She will be encouraged to serve in connection with her Theology classes, and students who truly embody this commitment are recognized and celebrated within the school community.

Service Opportunities at OLP

Throughout the year, OLP Campus Ministry offers a wide range of service experiences. Opportunities are shared through Campus Ministry Instagram and Schoology pages, Theology classes, the weekly bulletin, and morning PTV announcements. Educational justice immersions are also available, offering students meaningful opportunities to deepen their understanding of social justice issues and their role in creating change.

Masses at OLP

Gathering as a community to celebrate the Catholic Mass provides meaningful opportunities for each student to grow in her understanding of the faith, experience inspiring liturgies, and connect with others. OLP warmly welcomes students from all faith traditions, including those with no faith background. While all students are required to respectfully attend the monthly all-school Mass, each student may choose how she participates based on her personal faith background and the teachings of the Catholic Church. Optional Masses are celebrated in the Chapel on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7:15 a.m., and students are invited to serve in a variety of roles.

Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry plays a central role in guiding the OLP faith community in living out the ideals of Jesus in the Catholic tradition. With a shared commitment to love and service, Campus Ministry fosters leadership development and invites each student to grow as a faith-filled leader. Students and faculty collaborate to facilitate retreats, plan liturgies, organize justice awareness initiatives, and serve communities both locally in San Diego and around the world.
