Class of 2021

Class of 2021 Graduation Information

We congratulate you on the occasion of your daughter’s graduation. You have been partners with us in her education for the past four years, and we are looking forward to celebrating her graduation with you.

Baccalaureate Mass & Commencement

Thursday, May 27 at 4:30 pm

As of the changes announced on April 14, 2021, the CDPH has updated the Blueprint for Activity & Business Tiers Chart to address the impact of tested and fully vaccinated individuals on tier guidance. With these changes, OLP is pleased to announce that we will be moving to a combined Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement on Thursday, May 27 at 4:30 pm on the North Terrace of the historic Academy of Our Lady of Peace campus!

We are thrilled to announce this news! This most recent update allows us to meet all of the stated requirements and rules for convening, while remaining on our own campus. By combining both Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement, we feel confident that with the guidelines outlined below, we will be able to meet the CDPH Guidance for Gatherings, and the CDPH Graduation Guidance

Rehearsal for the Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement will be held on Tuesday, May 25 and Wednesday, May 26 on the OLP campus from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.

All of us are aware that this has been a year of adapting to rules and boundaries that are less than ideal in our desire to provide normal opportunities to help begin to return us to normal. Yet, we are not at the moment where we can do things in a way that would be ideal. Below we have outlined the rules from CDPH that must be followed regardless of where and how we gather.

Graduation Leis!
Class of 2021 students may purchase a blue and white orchid lei and/or ribbon lei to wear during Commencement. LEIS WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. These MUST be purchased in advance. The last day to purchase a lei is Friday, May 14 at 4:00 pm. Purchased leis will be available for pick up at rehearsal on Wednesday, May 26.

Please read the guidance below as there are very specific stipulations for each and every visitor who plans to attend the Baccalaureate and Commencement celebration that will need to be followed:

Capacity Limits and General Overview:

  • All seniors will be given a total of 4 tickets per graduate (all guest attendees require a ticket to enter).
  • All graduates will be seated together in alphabetical order.
  • Seats for guests will be assigned alphabetically based on a two tier status: fully vaccinated or negative COVID-19 test (read below for more specifics).
  • Tickets for graduation will be a personalized wrist-band with the attendees seat number and section (vaccinated/tested-only). These will be distributed to the graduate at the mandatory graduation practice.
  • A livestream link will be provided for family members to watch the Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement at viewing parties remotely. This will also be recorded and accessible following the event.
  • ADA accessible seating will be provided in each section.

Requirements for Attendance:

  • All guests will be required to pre-register and indicate if they will be presenting one of the following upon entry:
    1. Vaccinated-only section:
      • Definition: Fully vaccinated attendees seated in a section with other fully vaccinated attendees. People are considered fully vaccinated
for COVID-19 at ≥2 weeks after they have received the second dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna), or ≥2 weeks after they have received a single-dose vaccine (Johnson and Johnson [J&J]/Janssen).
Children (> 2 years of age) who are not eligible to be vaccinated may sit with their parent, guardian, or sponsor in the Vaccinated-only section if they are tested. Children younger than 2 do not need to be tested and may also sit with their parent, guardian, or sponsor in the Vaccinated-only section.
      • Verification: The following are acceptable as proof of full vaccination: Vaccination card (which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided and date last dose administered) OR a photo of a vaccination card as a separate document OR a photo of the attendee’s vaccine card stored on a phone or electronic device OR documentation of vaccination from a healthcare provider.
    2. Tested-only section:
      • Definition: Attendees who have tested negative and seated in a section with other attendees who have tested negative. Testing must
be conducted within 72 hours before event start time, if using PCR. Antigen tests are acceptable and must be conducted within 24 hours of the start of the event. Results of the test must be available prior to entry into the event or venue.
      • Verification: The following are acceptable as proof of a negative COVID-19 test result: printed document (from the test provider or laboratory) OR an email or text message displayed on a phone or electronic device from a verifiable test provider or laboratory. The information provided should include name of person tested, type of test performed, and date of negative test result (for PCR, date of negative result must be within prior 72 hours; for antigen, date of negative result must be within prior 24 hours)
    3. OLP will be offering onsite COVID-19 Testing through a Rapid Antigen Test for $20 on Wednesday, May 26 from 3:00 - 4:00 pm. All individuals needing a testing option for the event should come the day before the event.
  • Fully vaccinated persons from out of state may attend commencement activities that would normally be restricted to in-state visitors only.
  • Attendees will be entering through the Green Gates off Circle Drive with a pre-registered ticket, including their seat number, and an indicator of what type of documentation they are expected to provide (Vaccination card, Negative Testing, or OLP Antigen Testing).
  • Entry lines will be divided by Vaccinated or Testing, and in alphabetical groups.

Event Specifications:

  • Families will be asked to come in only 1 vehicle per household. Parking will be provided on the West Lot, in front of the school, and in the Parking structure.
  • Fully vaccinated-only sections will be separate from those tested attendees.
  • All attendees will be assigned seats by family unit, then alphabetically based on the name of their graduate.
  • Those individuals who indicate on their pre-registration that they will be showing a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the Commencement event will be seated in a separate section 12 feet away from the fully vaccinated section.
  • Individuals in the fully vaccinated-only section do not have to be physically distanced.
  • Face coverings will be required at all times for all individuals present.
