2018-19 Fall Sports


If you have any questions regarding the athletic clearance process, please email Assistant Principal/Director of Athletics, Mr. Aaron Gonzalez, at [email protected].

Please note the following changes to the athletic clearance process: If you have already turned in your current physical (dated after June 2, 2018) to the school, there is no need to upload it again. Once your account has been reviewed, you will get a "You are cleared to try-out" email from Mr. Gonzalez.  Please print and bring it to your coach on the first day of tryouts. This will be used as your tryout pass. You must turn this into your coach in order to tryout. Coaches will also have a roster of students cleared for participation.

As a reminder, you will still need to complete this process each time you try out for an OLP sport. Please email Assistant Principal/Director of Athletics, Mr. Aaron Gonzalez, at [email protected] with any questions.

Cross Country

Dates: Monday, August 6 and Friday, August 10
Time: 3:00-4:30 pm
Location: Morley Field | Picnic tables near the softball fields
What to Bring: clearance form, water, sunscreen and running shoes

Monday, August 6 | Informational meeting/driving range session for all interested players at Riverwalk Golf Course | 3:00-3:45 pm
Varsity Round 1 Tryout: Tuesday August 7 | First tee time is at 3:00 pm
Varsity Round 2 Tryout: Wednesday, August 8 | First tee time is at 3:00 pm
Junior Varsity tryouts will begin the week of August 13th, more details will be provided at the informational meeting on August 6th

What to Bring: clearance form, golf clubs, appropriate golf shorts and a collared shirt

Monday, August 6 - Tuesday, August 7 | 5:00-7:30 pm | New players only (freshmen and any players who were not on the team last year that want to tryout for the first time or want to tryout again if they didn't play on the team last year - first round of cuts will be August 7)
Wednesday, August 8 | 5:00-7:30 pm | Returning JV and new players through the first round of cuts (second round of cuts will be made)
Thursday, August 9 | 3:00-5:30 pm | Any players from previous days and returning varsity
Friday, August 10 | 3:00-5:30 pm | Players will be informed individually if they need to return for this day. It will be the last day to play any challenge matches that will help decide who goes on which team Location: Balboa Tennis Club 
What to Bring: clearance form, water, sunscreen, tennis shorts/skirt (with pockets or places to hold tennis balls), t-shirt or tank top, tennis shoes, racket (better to have 2 in case a string breaks, but 1 is okay), small towel if needed/wanted

Note: There will be 14 girls on each team, total of 28. Players will be evaluated on ability (all strokes including serving), match play skills (singles and doubles), attitude, collaboration with others, coach-ability, potential for improvement and to be a team player, and dedication. Missed days will be factored in, but everyone will be given a fair shot to make the team.
