Club Expo Week will take place during lunch Tuesday, Sept. 4 - Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018. All clubs will host a table featuring the mission, purpose and highlights of their club! Students are encouraged to visit the Club Expo during lunch on Lower Plaza. Explore your passions, join a club!
On Tuesday, November 6, the United States will hold a general election across the country. High
school students are eligible to work at the polls on Election Day. In order to be a poll worker, students must be 16 years of age by Election Day, have a grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, be a United States citizen or have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States. In addition, the County of San Diego requires students to obtain written permission from their school and a parent or guardian.
Student poll workers will:
Be assigned to serve as a Touchscreen Inspector or Clerk on a precinct board
Complete required online and classroom trainings
Pick up supplies and equipment on Saturday & Sunday, October 27 & 28, 2018 if assigned as a Touchscreen Inspector, and store those supplies/equipment in a secure location until setting up the polls
Assist in the set-up of the polling place on Election Eve, Monday, November 5
Work under the supervision of a Precinct Inspector from 5:45 a.m. until approximately 10:00 p.m. on Election Day
Student poll workers who complete their Election Day trainings and assignment will receive:
A stipend of $100 to $145 for each student
An additional $15 if assigned a bilingual position in Arabic, Chinese, Filipino, Korean, Spanish, or Vietnamese
A certificate signed by the Registrar of Voters for up to 21 hours of community service
If you are interested in participating in this program, you must complete an application form and return it to Dr. Blade no later than Tuesday, September 11 by lunchtime. Your parents or guardians must sign the application. The application form and a question and answer sheet are available on Mrs. Prantil's desk. Please see Dr. Blade if you have questions.
Come hang out with your classmates and make new friends at the annual OLP-Saints Frosh Tailgate! The Tailgate will be held on Friday, September 7, from 5:30 pm - 6:45 pm in the Mesa College Parking Lot 2. The football game begins at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $5 and include food, drink, and fun. The last day to purchase Tailgate tickets is September 5th - don't wait! Purchase Tickets Here! Tickets for the game will be sold on Wednesday, September 5th at lunch and at the gate on Friday, September 7th.
On September 15, 2018, the Academy of our Lady of Peace will host its FIRST EVER Homecoming Dance! Our first annual OLP Homecoming will be for everyone: Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors.

Any student interested in joining the OLP Equestrian team is asked to attend an interest meeting Wednesday, September 5th at lunch in the Library. No need to bring your horse :).
While games and matches are always notable, the countless hours of preparing for performances is also worth noting. Both our Dance and Cheer teams continue to practice every day of the school week. Whether it's morning or afternoon practices, you can count on one of these two teams working on their routines for cheer competitions and Saints football games. Go Pilots!!!
First Serve Tournament
The Pilots participated in the annual First Serve Tournament, hosted by Valhalla and Granite Hills High School. Both JV and Varsity participated and played 5 rounds of matches. JV came in 1st place, winning their entire draw and only dropping one set all day. They defeated Westview in the championship round. Every player performed well, with standout play from #1 doubles team Ana Ramirez '21/Anjali Paye '21 and #3 doubles team Giulia Piraino '21/Lucia Araujo '22. Varsity finished in 2nd place, winning four rounds before coming up short against San Dieguito in the finals. The whole team worked hard and performed well, with standout play from #2 doubles team Luisa Garcia '21/Rebeca Gonzalez '20, who went undefeated, not dropping a set to any other team. Overall, it was a great day for the Pilots!
