Women in Business Club Presentation on Wednesday
Join the Women in Business Club at lunch on Wednesday, November 8, as we host OLP alumnae and entrepreneurs Susanna ‘99 and Elaina ‘95 Samaniego. The owners of Design 4 Corners interior design firm will share their tips and tricks on how to start your own business, how to find success as a young woman and how to lead with confidence! UNICEF Club First Meeting on Wednesday
Our Social Justice club partners with the U.S. Fund for UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Fund) to educate, advocate, and fundraise—work that is vital to UNICEF's ability to save children in 190 countries around the globe. This semester's club focus is the hurricane victims in Puerto Rico and Florida. Next semester, our focus will shift to human trafficking awareness. If you are interested in learning more about these issues, please join us in Room 107 during lunch on Wednesday, November 8. Frosh & Sophomores are Invited to Dinner & a Movie at Saints on Thursday
OLP freshmen and sophomores are invited to join Saints freshmen and sophomores for dinner and a movie at SAHS on Thursday, November 9! The event is from 6:00-9:00 pm and tacos will be served with soft drinks. You’ll be watching “10 Things I Hate About You” on a giant outdoor screen, so dress warmly. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased through https://www.sahs.org/.

UnitedSTEM Conference at Francis Parker on November 11
Francis Parker has invited us to participate in their UnitedSTEM conference on November 11 from 2:00-5:30 pm at Francis Parker School. The UnitedSTEM conference aims to promote diversity and inclusion within STEM, in an environment where everyone is welcomed. Through workshops and presentations, attendees will learn about advocacy and interact with people who are already working to make STEM more inclusive. Registration is free and online! Register Now

Application Due Wednesday for Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States’ largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service. The program honors middle level and high school students for outstanding service to others at the local, state and national level. We encourage you to apply for this prestigious award! Applications are due November 7, 2017. To be eligible, you must be a legal resident of the U.S. and have engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred during the 12 months prior to November 7. Once you complete the application, email or print the “Certification” instructions page for your counselor. OLP will select one student from the applicants and nominate her for state-level judging. Brad Fowler Memorial Scholarship Opportunity
The Brad Fowler Memorial Scholarship offers a $5,000 scholarship to five high school seniors in San Diego County. A second scholarship of $5,000 can also be earned, provided the recipient remains in good academic standing following the first year of college, for a total possible scholarship award of $10,000. The nominee must have demonstrated an ability to overcome personal obstacles associated with drugs or alcohol, a strong commitment to athletics and a desire to continue personal growth and development through higher education. There is no minimum GPA requirement, but academic growth will be considered. Learn More

RSVP for Grandparents Day on November 17
Our annual Grandparents Day tradition is on Friday, November 17, 2017. The day will consist of brunch, tours of campus, mass and professional portrait opportunities. Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday, November 15: Price Increase
The French Gourmet will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving Feast in the Pilot Cafe on Wednesday, November 15. The meal includes: range-grown turkey served with The French Gourmet's savory bread stuffing & gravy; holiday yams flavored with maple syrup, walnuts, & crumbled meringue; cranberry-orange relish; fresh green beans; red bliss mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. This delicious feast will be $8.50 per person, which is a slight increase in normal lunch fares.
