Calendar Update

Please note that the last day of classes, Monday, May 21, 2018 is now an Early Dismissal Day with a 12:45 dismissal. The time honored tradition of the Senior Farewell Assembly will take place on this day from 11:45 am-12:45 pm in the Holy Family Event Center. Parents of the Class of 2018 are welcome to attend.

Summer Enrichment Camps at OLP!

Girls entering 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th grade in the fall can experience the magic of an all girls' school environment. Our wide variety of STEM-focused camps are taught by our experienced OLP faculty, students, and alumnae. Camps will take place from July 9th - July 20th, with each camp running one week long. These full-day camps will run Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 3:00pm. The regular camp fee is $300. Register Here!

OLP Spring Pops Concert 2018!

Come celebrate the season on May 10, 2018 with OLP's Instrumental and Choral music program!We are delighted to showcase our talented students in a diverse program. The concert will take place in the OLP Theater. Tickets are $10 for general public and $5 for students. Reserve your tickets now! Limited space available. Class of 2018 Graduation Accessories Now on Sale!

There are two optional graduation accessories that members of the Class of 2018 may purchase to wear during Commencement. Please note: Although there are two choices to purchase, you may wear only one of these accessories during the ceremony.

The last day to purchase an accessory is Sunday, May 20 at 4:00 PM.

Important** As the school year winds down, kindly settle any negative account balances with The French Gourmet/Common Grounds. Student yearbooks will not be released until all balances are paid in full. Beginning on Monday, May 7th, no charges can be made to student IDs with a zero or negative balance. Balance reminder messages will be sent through JupiterEd.

AP Exam Schedule '18 and Locations

AP Testing is the weeks of May 7 and May 14. Students are to report to their assigned testing rooms no later than 7:30am for the AM exams and 11:30am for the PM exams. Students must supply their own No. 2 pencils, pens and calculators.

 
Workshop: BIOENGINEERING WOMEN'S HEALTH

On May 5, BEWise is offering a workshop in which bioengineering can be applied to improve women's health at UCSD! Participants will engage in a hands-on exploration of gel electrophoresis, a critical tool in biotechnology labs, as a means of identifying genetic mutations related to breast cancer. Sign up!

Competitive Dance Team Tryouts

We are happy to announce that OLP Athletics will be offering a competitive dance team for the 2018-2019 school year. Ms. Kelly Marshall will be the head coach and is excited to offer this new program to the students. Tryouts will be Friday, May 11 at 3:30-5:30 pm and Saturday, May 12 at 8:00 am-10:00 am in the OLP Dance  Studio. In order to tryout, you will need to bring this completed waiver on the first day. Save the Date - Spring Sports Recognition Night

We will be celebrating Spring Sports Recognition Night on Wednesday, May 16 at 6:30 pm in the Holy Family Event Center. The Athletics Department will be recognizing all student-athletes in Archery, Cheer, Equestrian, Lacrosse, Sand Volleyball, Softball, Swim & Dive and Track & Field. Save the Date - OLP Physical Day

The OLP Athletic Department will be having their annual physical day on Saturday, June 9, 2018. This is an opportunity to get a physical completed here on campus by a physician which will be valid for the entire 2018-2019 school year. Archery

On Saturday at the Regional Archery Competition held at Cetys University in Mexicali, Mexico, Lily Lucero '18 took home the bronze in the Women's Juniors class shot at 60 meters. On Sunday, the team competed in the Olympic Archery in Schools National Championship in San Diego. Isabella Velarde '19 placed 7th and Marian Isbell '19 placed 10th. Lily Lucero places 1st overall and is named the National Champion! What a fantastic season for the OLP Archery team! 

Lacrosse

The Varsity Pilots have officially been named the City League Champions for two seasons now! After beating Grossmont on Saturday 12-8 and Mission Bay on Tuesday 18-9, they are seeded #2 going into CIF Division II playoffs. As a higher seed, they receive a bye for the first round. On Tuesday, they will play the winner of #7 Mt. Carmel vs. #10 Grossmont. They game will be played at 5:30 pm at Hoover High School. Good luck Pilots!

Varsity Lacrosse captain, Bailey Gehler '19, is nominated for Play of the Week by KUSI Sports. Please go vote for her on InstagramTwitter, and Facebook!
JV Lacrosse Coach, Kelsey Phillips, was selected as head coach for the 2018 Women's National Tournament (WDNT) team. Bailey Gehler '19 will be joining Phillips at the tournament as a player. With 60 teams from across the country competing annually, the National Tournament has been become one of the nation's marquee college recruiting events. The event is open to all high school aged players, but players must try out for regional teams in order to participate. The tournament will be held at Stony Brook University in Stony Brooke, NY on May 26-27. While there, the team will be attending the NCAA D1 Women's Semifinal Games and the NCAA D1 Women's Championship Game. Good luck to Coach Phillips and Bailey!
 
Softball
 
JV: On Wednesday, the Pilots won a close game against Clairemont 5-4. They faced the same team earlier in the season losing 16-1. This time they came from behind and won on a walk off single by Jordan Williams '21. The JV Pilots have shown tremendous growth this season!
 
Varsity: The Pilots had a great win against Valhalla last weekend with a final of 12-1. Kaleigh Lane 18' and Solana Martinez 19' both had home runs! On Wednesday, they fell to Clairemont 0-3. Marin Musicant '18, went 2 for 3 with a single and a double also pitching a great game. The Pilots look forward to celebrating their seniors on Wednesday, May 9 at Hickman against Christian at 3:30 pm.
 

Swim & Dive
Last Wednesday, the JV Swim & Dive team competed against Mira Mesa. Kyla Buss '21 swam personal best times in all 3 of her events and Jordan Wilson '21 bettered her time by 5 seconds in her 50 breaststroke. Kekoa Ulufanua '20 & Andrea Deinard '19 secured a guaranteed spot at CIF Championships by qualifying for the CIF Automatic Time Standard in the 100 breastroke. On Friday, Varsity competed against Scripps Ranch. Aimee Ramirez '21 made her Varsity cut in the 100 butterfly and Dayle Cowan '21 made her Varsity cut in the 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle. Bella Ah Moo '21 broke 30 seconds in her 50 freestyle and Claudia Sanchez '21 dropped over 6 seconds in her 100 freestyle time. Valerie Valdez '21 and Sarah Glick '21 dropped 2 seconds in their 50 freestyle. Gilly Folk '19 volunteered to swim in the last spot in the 500 freestyle and she swam butterfly the entire race! On Tuesday, the Varsity competed in the City Conference League Championships Preliminaries. Folk '19 made it to finals in her 200 freestyle (8th place) and her 100 butterfly (7th place). Kaitlyn Coons '20 made it to Finals in the 100 breaststroke (12th place). Deinard '19 also made it to finals in the 100 breastroke (14th place), Pearl Simonelli '21 made it to finals in her 100 backstroke (15th place). All 3 relays made it to finals as well.
