Sister Mary Williams has been a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet for almost 60 years. Born and raised in Pasco, Washington, she graduated from The College of St. Catherine and Stanford University. After a year of study and travel in Europe, she entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in Los Angeles.
She served as professor of English, academic dean, and provost at Mount St. Mary’s College (now Mount St. Mary’s University), and has been active in leadership positions in the Los Angeles Province–as provincial councilor and regional superior, delegate to provincial chapters, and member of many committees, school and hospital boards.
One of her most treasured areas of service was as a member for many years of the Board of Directors of the Academy of Our Lady of Peace.
