CSJ Classic Returns to OLP

OLP hosted our sister school from Lakewood, CA the last weekend in September. St. Joseph’s High School made the drive down the 5 to face off against the Pilots in volleyball. The Jesters got the best of the Pilots this time around. Both Frosh and Varsity lost their matches but JV managed the win. More importantly, after the game both schools shared a wonderful meal on North Terrace. Student-athletes, coaches, and parents from two schools but one CSJ community sat together in one long table of Sisterhood. This tradition began two years ago and was born out of the college friendship of OLP math teacher and soccer coach Mr. Tim Paluso and former St. Joseph’s athletic director and current counselor Mr. Joseph Albert while they both attended San Diego State. Go Jesters!!! Go Pilots!!!

Congratulations Solana Martinez ‘19!

Solana Martinez ‘19 has verbally committed to play softball at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She is earning a scholarship in athletics and academics. Her hard work and dedication during her years as a Pilot and club softball have paid off. Not only is Solana an exemplary student-athlete, but she is also one of the best teammates anyone could have and a true leader on and off the field. Well Done Solana.

Record-Setting Pilot

Brooke Ryback ‘21 scorched the Friars 9 Hole Course at Riverwalk Golf Club on Monday, September 24 in a match against Coronado High school. Brooke ‘21 shot an incredible 4-under par 32, setting an OLP school record. The score was no fluke. She followed that up with a 3-under 33 to start the month of October.
