OLP is proud and excited to introduce Haben Girma, the first deafblind woman to graduate from Harvard Law School, as the keynote speaker for our 6th Annual Women's Symposium on Friday, September 11!
Haben believes that disability is an opportunity for innovation and she has been honored across the globe for teaching the benefits of choosing inclusion. Ms. Girma has also written a book, Haben: The Deafblind Woman Who Conquered Harvard Law, which we invite our alumnae to read in advance of her keynote address. Following the Women's Symposium, we invite our alumnae to join with their alumnae sisters in a discussion of Haben’s amazing story of fortitude and resilience at an alumnae reconnect on Wednesday, September 16 at 5:00 pm via Zoom.
The first 20 alumnae to register for the reconnect will be provided a discount code to purchase the e-version of Haben Girma’s book. Her book is also available on Amazon, IndieBound, and other retailers.
This reconnect is free for alumnae, but registration is required. While registering, we encourage alumnae to support current students with a contribution to the Alumnae Scholarship Fund. This book and reconnect share in the pioneering spirit of our CSJ Sisters, so please also invite your fellow OLP sisters to participate.
We hope that you will register to attend the Women’s Symposium to hear Haben Girma’s address and other inspiring speakers, of whom 10 are alumnae, and take part in meaningful discussions. We're offering a discounted ticket rate for alumnae, only $15!
