Biography:

Mrs. Favela returned to OLP after teaching in New York and Houston. While in Texas, she survived her daughter’s major illness, Hurricane Harvey, and teaching 9th grade in a school of almost 5,000 kids! Professionally, Lori’s been working on differentiation, the Reader/ Writer Workshop method, and keeping abreast of current young adult writers. Mrs. Favela loves Spring Sing, being in a Catholic school, and reconnecting with her OLP family. Lori is living in Chula Vista with her husband, her in-laws, and their three dogs. Her daughter Claudia attends school at Texas State University, her son Jordan attends school at Southwestern College, and her husband is in administration at UCSD. Mrs. Favela is in the dissertation phase of her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on the education of young women, and has Masters degrees in both School Administration and Curriculum and Instruction of Secondary English.
