Barbara Jean is an Artist and Art Educator. She received her BA in Fine Art from USD and worked for over 15 years as a Graphic Artist and Business Owner. She has experience in a wide array of media, including drawing, painting, ceramics, as well as sculpture and metals. While raising her two boys (now 18 & 22) she also taught Pre-K to 12th-grade students for 10 plus years as an Art Docent. She has a Single Subject Art Teaching Credential from SDSU and recently added a Supplemental Credential for Psychology. Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s in Art Education at Azuza Pacific University.
She was previously a long term sub at OLP and is excited to return as a full-time instructor. Previously, she taught Art Courses at Clairemont High School, as well as at both Francis Parker Upper/Middle School and Lower School. For several years she tutored at Cuyamaca College in Art, Child Development, and Psychology. Teaching people of all ages and encouraging individuals to find their creative voice has been her lifelong passion.
