Mr. Aaron Gonzalez

Assistant Principal for Athletics

Mr. Gonzalez supports the development of the OLP Athletic department and directly supervises the entire coaching staff.  His role also includes the oversight of any programs related to student-athletes.

  • Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, Digital Literacy from University of San Diego

 

Biography:

Mr. Gonzalez has been a member of the OLP family for the last eleven years, first serving as Varsity Golf Head Coach and then joining the Social Studies Department faculty.  He served as Chair of the Social Studies Department for three years.  Whether as a teacher, coach, or administrator, Mr. Gonzalez simply sees himself as a committed Catholic educator and cherishes the opportunity to support the students at OLP.

Mr. Gonzalez has over 17 years of experience in Catholic education.  Prior to joining OLP, he was the 8th grade teacher, Middle School Chair, and WASC/WCEA Chair at St. John of the Cross Catholic School where he developed programs that provided relevant social and cultural experiences for his students and the community at large.  Having been a product of Catholic education himself, he knows first-hand the countless benefits and opportunities it brings to our students and our global community.  As an athletic enthusiast and supporter of co-curricular programs that provide students with a holistic experience of high school, Mr. Gonzalez is consistently looking for ways to support student-athletes in their pursuits both on and off the courts and fields.  

 

Mr. Gonzalez graduated with honors from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. He recently earned a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from USD’s School of Leadership and Education Sciences.  He is also a proud graduate of St. John of the Cross Catholic School and Marian Catholic High School.  At home, Mr. Gonzalez loves spending time with his wife Katie and their three children, James 11, Nathan 7, and Mia 3.  Whenever possible, he likes golfing, playing video games with his kids, and teaching them the ways of the Force.
