Athletics Update

March 9 – 13, 2020

Lacrosse
Please come join our Lacrosse team to see our very own Bailey Gehler ‘19 in her Aztec Lacrosse game at SDSU Aztec Field Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 1:00 pm. JV and Varsity will have team bonding afterwards. Look to coach for details.

Archery
We won 1 of our two matches on Saturday. Bringing the team to 3 and 1. Our next set of matches are scrimmages against High Tech Point Loma on Campus on Saturday, March 14.

Dance
The OLP Dance Teams took home big wins at their last regional of the season at CADTD’s Woodbridge Dance Celebration! Our Varsity Hip Hop & Large Lyrical took home 1st Place, Pom 2nd, Large Jazz 3rd, Small Lyrical 4th, and our duo by Simona Ruderman ’21 & Savina Charlier ’20 took home 5th. Huge shout out to our JV team who placed 3rd in Hip Hop, beating out multiple varsity level teams! Lily Attaway ’23 placed 1st and Paulette Vazquez ’23 placed 2nd in freshmen solos. Way to go Pilots! Our last competition of the season will be WCE Nationals in Long Beach at the end of March.

Softball
Varsity pilots had their first tournament this past weekend in Coachella Valley. The team all bonded and showed freshman girls what to expect and hope for. The team is excited for what the rest of the season brings!

Sand Volleyball
Pilots won their match today vs. Serra HS with a 2-1 victory. Our A team Cianna Kelly and Julia Alvarez had a close match with scores of 21-16, 19-21, 13-15. B team Giulia Cefalu and Anna Andreu along with C team Jenna Beck and Fiorella Hunter won 2 sets to none.

Swim and Dive
Our Swim Team is having an awesome time down at Coronado – the sun is shining, and God is really really good! We are getting better and stronger every day, and great things are going to keep on coming to us. Good vibes only.

Track and Field
Huge congratulations to all the girls on their competition last Wednesday. It’s always nice to get the first meet out of the way. However it turned out for each individual as it gave us a starting point in the season to be able to measure our progress throughout the season.
