The JV & Varsity OLP Dance Teams have had an exciting start to the year! Football season is in full swing and you can watch both dance teams at halftime and on the sideline alongside our OLP cheerleaders. The girls absolutely loved dancing for our Pilots at the OLP Homecoming Rally too! In addition to continuing the football season, the teams will begin preparing for competition season and will be bringing in guest choreographers to work with the teams.

So far, JV Tennis has been playing incredibly. Despite some tough losses including (9-9: 81-92) against La Jolla, there have also been some nail biting wins like that of against Patrick Henry (9-9: 76-75). The second half of season is sure to be exciting, exhilarating, and electrifying as the Pilots continue to master new techniques and use them to command the court. Captains, Katiana Yazdani ‘22 and Ana Ramirez ‘21 have been especially playing well and hope to lead their team into a successful second half of season.
This season, the Pilots have already played 9 matches, some wins and some super close losses. They dominated against Pacific Ridge, Mater Dei, and Bonita Vista. They have also had four super tight matches, including two that had a tied set score and games were counted, which resulted in the Pilots losing by very few games. One player we would like to highlight is Jolie Morgan ‘21, the team’s number one singles player. She has remained undefeated this season, winning all 27 sets that she has played.
The Pilots are determined to come out strong against their competitors during the second round of league. All players on the team have been working hard during practices and putting all their effort on the court during matches. The team environment has been energetic, united, and supportive. Come out to support the tennis team as they enter into the second half of their season. Go Pilots!
The OLP Freshman Volleyball team is off to a great start. They have been undefeated up until the first–and only–freshman tournament where they placed third out of 27 teams. Sophia Alveranga ‘23 received All-Tournament Player for her hard work that weekend. Each and every girl has worked extremely hard since the first practice and is continuing to excel every day. Our first league game was September 24 and we are looking forward to continuing a great season.
