Alumnae play a special role in our 138-year-old community. As beneficiaries of an OLP education, alumnae know first-hand the impact of OLP’s curriculum, values, and culture. To ensure this experience is available for future generations of Pilots, alumnae have generously made over 3,000 gifts in the past three years to support scholarships, tuition assistance, historic preservation, and campus improvements.
Le Prochain Society
In their original documents, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet gifted us with a word that expands on the significance of the sisterhood so valued and so unique to the alumnae of OLP. The French word “Le Prochain,” translated directly, refers to those neighbors next to us or those who follow after us. In this sense, the bond and commitment of alumnae extend beyond those sisters with whom they shared a graduating class and beyond the walls of Villa to encompass all OLP women, past, present, and future. In recognition of her ongoing commitment to Villa Montemar, an alumna who makes a gift each year to support any fund at OLP is honored as a member of the Le Prochain Society.
