Choosing a high school is a meaningful family decision. We’ve brought the entire OLP application journey into one clear guide so you always know what comes next.
Applications for the 2027–2028 school year are open as of September 1, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. OLP reviews each application holistically, looking beyond checklists to understand the gifts, character, curiosity, and potential each student will bring to our sisterhood.
PARENT APPLICATION GUIDE
Eight required steps

Submit the application
Create a Finalsite account and complete your daughter’s online application.

Pay the application fee
The fee confirms and processes her application.

Upload a recent photo
A simple snapshot helps us put a face to her name and welcome her.

Schedule the family interview
Select an available time. If none work, email [email protected].

Request the principal recommendation
Your daughter’s principal collaborates with her math, science and English teachers to provide a well-rounded recommendation. This will automatically be sent electronically as part of the application checklist.

Submit testing results
Upload recent STAR, CAASPP, PIENSE or equivalent standardized testing results for both English and Math.

Upload academic records
Provide all 7th and 8th grade academic records (at least the first grading period of 8th grade).

Register for the CPDT
Reserve her place for the Course Placement Diagnostic Test on Saturday, February 6.
COURSE PLACEMENT DIAGNOSTIC TEST
CPDT: placement, not admission
The CPDT is not an entrance exam. It is a placement tool designed to identify your daughter’s strengths and place her in the courses where she can thrive from day one.
The assessment covers English, mathematics, science, and world language. Its purpose is to help OLP meet each student where she is and build a confident academic start.

International Student Admissions
OLP is SEVP-certified to issue Form I-20 documentation to eligible international students seeking F-1 student visa status.
Review international student requirements
OLP is certified by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) to issue the Form I-20, Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status, to eligible international students seeking F-1 student visa status. OLP welcomes applicants of any nationality or citizenship who meet the school’s admissions requirements.
As a criterion for acceptance, OLP reserves the right to require additional language proficiency assessments as necessary. For students being admitted in partnership with an international student agency, this requirement may be fulfilled through the agency agreement or related agency admissions process.
International students who will reside in the United States without a biological parent, legal parent, or court-appointed legal guardian are required to work with one of OLP’s preferred international student agencies for homestay and guardian coordination. Students who reside in Tijuana, Mexico, or otherwise commute across the border while living with their biological parents are not considered international homestay students for purposes of this agency requirement.
Students and parents are responsible for completing all required OLP I-20 application materials and coordinating with the Office of Admissions and Registrar regarding all SEVIS and Form I-20 documentation, including initial issuance, annual updates, transfers, travel, withdrawal, graduation-related matters, and maintaining current F-1 student status. Students must also provide required supporting documentation, including a current passport and evidence of financial support, as requested by OLP. It is the responsibility of the student and parent to understand and comply with all F-1 visa, SEVIS, and Form I-20 requirements.
Students holding F-1 student visa status must check in with the Registrar before any international travel, including holiday travel outside the United States, to ensure that the student’s Form I-20 includes any required and current school signatures necessary for re-entry.
The international student agency representing the student is responsible for collecting tuition, application, registration, international student, and other applicable fees from the family and remitting payment to OLP on behalf of the student’s FACTS account. For the 2026-2027 academic year, the non-refundable annual International Student Fee is $3,000 and is due at the time of registration. All required fees must be paid by June 20 unless otherwise directed by OLP.

IMPORTANT DEADLINES

Early Decision Deadline
Complete all required steps by December 1.
Early applicants receive their admission decision by December 9 and are invited to the Early Acceptance VIP Party on December 10, where newly accepted Pilots receive an OLP Class of 2031 sweatshirt.
Regular Application Deadline
Complete all required steps by January 5.
The CPDT is the only required application item permitted after these deadlines.

Scholars’ Day
Friday, January 15, 12:00–3:00 p.m. Students can showcase their enthusiasm for learning while competing for merit-based scholarships.
Pilot for a Day
Recommended for 7th- and 8th-grade girls, this signature shadow experience pairs your daughter with a current Pilot.
Video essay
In 90 seconds or less, she can share which part of her spirit or which gift shines brightest when she is at her best.
Additional letter of recommendation
A teacher, coach, mentor, or community leader may share her character, resilience, effort, and impact on others.
Learning support documentation
If applicable, upload an IEP, 504 Plan, or other documentation so our team can begin partnering with your family.

8th Grade Visitation Day
A beloved OLP tradition, this half-day event invites 8th-grade students to experience our academics, spirit, and traditions alongside girls from across San Diego. Many parochial schools are already registered to attend with their entire class, so before signing up individually, please confirm with your daughter’s school whether she is already included.

🚙 Students provide their own transportation and must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.

This personalized shadow day allows prospective students to pair with a current OLP student ambassador, sit in on classes, and truly see what it feels like to be part of the OLP sisterhood. Pilot for a Day is offered on select dates throughout the fall semester.

Goodbye HSPT, Hello Confidence: The CPDT
At OLP, we believe a girl’s high school journey should begin with confidence, joy, and possibility—not fear. That is why we have proudly eliminated the High School Placement Test (HSPT). Too often, the HSPT created unnecessary stress for students and worked against our mission to provide a supportive, inclusive, and empowering environment for all girls.
In its place, we have designed the OLP Course Placement Diagnostic Test (CPDT)—a tool that celebrates each girl’s unique strengths and ensures she is placed in the courses where she will thrive. The CPDT is not an entrance exam. Instead, it is a supportive measure used solely for academic placement, helping us meet each student where she is and give her the best possible foundation for success. This approach reflects our commitment to fostering a community where every Pilot is safe, supported, and challenged—ready to soar academically and personally.
The CPDT guides placement in:
- English – English I or English I Honors
- Math – Beginning Algebra through Calculus (including Honors)
- Science – Biology or Biology Honors
- World Languages – Spanish, French, or American Sign Language (ASL)
The diagnostic itself includes:
- A quick write/timed essay for English placement
- Math and science diagnostics to determine the best academic fit
- A world language survey, with a brief fluency check if your daughter already speaks the language
By thoughtfully replacing the HSPT with the CPDT, we reaffirm our belief that every girl deserves to be seen, celebrated, and set up for success. Instead of measuring her against a standardized test, we are focused on helping her grow in confidence, skills, and self-discovery.

Special Ways We Celebrate Her
Families who pre-register for Open House are automatically entered into our raffle for exciting prizes, including a $1,000 tuition scholarship award (winner must be present).
Pre-registration for raffle eligibility closes on Friday, November 6, at 8:00 a.m. Families may still register on the day of Open House, but only those who sign up in advance will be entered into the raffle.
