All Grades

Every student is required to take, at any time, one semester of:

• Speech & Debate I

Grade 9

Freshmen are required to take:

• English I OR English I Honors

Grade 10

Sophomores are required to take:

• World Literature OR World Literature Honors

Grade 11

Juniors are required to take:

• American Literature OR American Literature Honors OR AP Language and Composition

Grade 12

Seniors are required to take a full year of English courses in any of the following elective courses:

• AP Literature and Composition
• British Literature
• Writing in Literature I (open to grades 11-12)
• Writing in Literature II (open to grades 11-12)
• Dystopian Literature
• Examining the Holocaust
• Literature and Film
• Speech & Debate Honors II (open to grades 10-12)
• Women’s Literature Seminar
