DANCE
The Dance Studio is located in the Qualiato Hall basement. Students may take Exploration of Dance, and numerous opportunities for dancers are offered in the school musical, arts festivals, and Spring Sing.
The Dance Exploration/Appreciation class is aimed at helping you create a better kinesthetic awareness of your body and at developing your power of expression through the study of dance. You will learn how a dancer uses her body, her mind, and her spirit to communicate her art to her audience. We will discuss how and why dance has changed over time, and we will investigate different styles and techniques of dance; exploring the different points of view that drive each style. By the end of the semester, hopefully you will have gained some appreciation and understanding of dance as an art form, as well as experiencing the joy that dance has to offer.
